Thermodynamics and Hot Supersymmetry

The Standard Model is the name given by physicists to probably the most successful and greatest scientific theory of all time. The Standard Model is great, but not good enough. Few are convinced that it represents the ultimate theory in physics. Many extensions to the Standard Model have been proposed to address challenges like Dirac's problem of large numbers and more. Amongst many, supersymmetry stands out as the most well-known and accurate. Supersymmetry refers to an exquisite space-time symmetry that connects bosons and fermions. The most extensively studied supersymmetric theory, and a powerful testing ground for many theoretical ideas, is the maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory. In my talk, I'll focus specifically on this N=4, d=4 theory and its thermodynamic properties at finite temperature which we computed using different thermal field theoretic techniques.

BIO: Ubaid did his PhD at the Center for Nuclear Research, Kent State University, Ohio USA, with Prof. Michael Strickland. Prior to that, he graduated with his undergraduate and master's degree in physics at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) in India.
